Who asks for baby diapers as a holiday gift? This Orange County nonprofit – Orange County Register

Multiple business locations in and near Orange County are collecting diapers throughout the month of December for Clear Charity, a local nonprofit that provides thousands of free or lower-cost baby diapers to families in need.

The charity’s Holiday Diaper Drive started the week before Thanksgiving and will continue until Dec. 29, with some participating businesses offering a gift or a discount to those who donate, said Jae Perez-Kim, who runs Clear Charity with his wife, Dana Perez-Kim.

Clear Charity is requesting only manufacturer-sealed packages of diapers, with size 4-6 most in demand.

Donations can be dropped off at diaper drive locations in the cities of Irvine, Mission Viejo, Orange, and Tustin in Orange County. Pieology Pizzeria restaurants in the cities of Cerritos, Lakewood, Pomona and Whittier in Los Angeles County, and Moreno Valley in Riverside County are also participating.

Throughout the year, Clear Charity routinely distributes Cuties Premium Diapers, from newborn to size 6, available through a diaper program with Jet.com. Free and subsidized-cost diapers are available based on income, but any family with a young child can purchase diapers at wholesale prices. Diapers are available for pickup during scheduled hours at the nonprofit’s offices in Orange.

Beyond the diaper drive, Clear Charity also is accepting donations of new or gently used clothing, toys and books for infants and toddlers that can be dropped off by arrangement after contacting Clear Charity.
