So you’re thinking about starting a blog? Well the technical side of blogging is easier than you think but the content creation side of it and attracting an audience is probably harder than you think. To start a successful blog you need to take several things into account.
Most successful blogs have a common theme that they write about like fitness, dieting, marketing or food for example. There is no limit but they do stick to a common theme throughout their entire blog and they continuously create new content based on that common theme and build an audience around that subject, regular readers who share the same interest and like to read what that writer and to say. This is important if you want to build a large audience around a common theme and start to make money from it. One of my favorite blogs recently is called Addicted To Success. They talk about success and create article on becoming successful full of motivational videos, quotes and examples. Although their content isn’t unique as such because it is shared from places like YouTube and Tumblr, they do a really good job of building their audience on that common theme and monetize with advertising. But I always go back to check out their latest articles as I often work from home I need the motivation from time to time.
The next thing that most successful blogs have in common is their ability to turn stray visitors into regular readers whether it’s through a mailing list, RSS Feed or social media feeds. Once you start to create a blog on a common theme you’ll start to attract visitors that are interested in what you have to write about and your job then is to make them into regular readers. I tend to do this by enticing them to subscribe to my mailing list or point them toward my social media streams so I can then bring them back to read the latest posts and get them to join the community.
The third thing that I’m going to talk about in this article is about content. Find yourself a popular blog with tons of cementers and read some of their most popular blog posts. They have the ability to write great content for their readers. They are full of useful information and with actionable content and they provide engaging and entertaining content. This is the reason people will always come back to their site or even become subscribers, content is the number one key to being able to grow a large audience, if you haven’t got anything good to share with your readers why would they comeback…
