Today VTIER Systems announced that the VTIER-S50 data management and scalable storage system has been selected for use as a storage solution at NIH to improve storage utilization, energy efficiency, and control data center costs. The VTIER-S50 is a compact and scalable storage system utilizing only 6U rack space and provides up to 500TB of high performance storage space with combination of SSD and SATA drives. NIH selected VTIER to address a variety of business objectives, including business continuity, simplified storage management, increased storage efficiency, and reduced power and cooling costs.
