UAE could become leading destination for scuba diving holidays

The United Arab Emirates could soon become a leading destination for scuba diving holidays as the region looks at the potential of the marine leisure and real estate industry.

The United Arab Emirates sell or rent approximately 1,500 luxury boats and yachts every year, holding a leading position in the high-end marine crafts industry.

The “Big Boys Toys” show will be taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 2nd to 5th February 2011, which will feature big brands and the latest technologies, including luxury yachts and speed boats, and gadgets which can be used during scuba diving holidays.

The lifestyle exhibition will attract leading American and European companies and provide numerous networking opportunities for interior designers, luxury boat companies and waterside developers during the four-day show.

Biju Jayaraaj, CEO of the organisers of the “Big Boys Toys” show, Artaaj, said: “The massive investments towards marina facilities is part of the capital’s aims to harbour as many as 10,000 recreational marine crafts and is part of its 2030 strategic growth plan.

“This strong interest from global customers, investors and the local governments themselves is a positive indicator for companies involved in building luxury boats and waterfront projects.

“Our goal during ‘Big Boys Toys’ is to help businesses targeting this highly lucrative market, by giving them tremendous exposure among high-potential clientele in the region,” he added.

The event will feature a range of exciting global marine projects including Liquid Glass Boat, Abra Marine, Spire Boat, and Al Marakeb Boat Manufacturing.

The five-star Al Mahara Diving Centre in Abu Dhabi offers PADI certified instruction for beginners, groups, corporate parties, and kids looking to pick up some skills for scuba diving holidays.
