Trump Lashes Out At Hillary After She Talks About Why She Lost

Hillary Clinton is back in the headlines. The former first lady seems to be thinking out loud about her defeat in the presidential election in her memoir “What Happened” released this week.

In an opinion piece published Wednesday by the Washington Post, journalist Mark A. Thiessen made a sarcastic remark about Clinton’s observations saying the memoir should have been titled “What Happened?” because the book made it clear she was clueless about what led to her defeat. The former secretary of state has talked about her personal life, Russian spying in the presidential election, President Donald Trump and sexism in her book. However, some commentators have said she wrote the memoir to defend herself. An article published by the Politifact also underlines that Clinton may not have got all her facts right in the book.

Clinton has not refrained herself from calling out POTUS in the memoir. “I sometimes wonder: If you add together his time spent on golf, Twitter and cable news,” she writes in the book, “what’s left?” She has even likened Trump’s “war on truth” to George Orwell’s dystopian novel “1984.”

In what may be viewed as a response to these rants, POTUS took to Twitter on Wednesday night and lashed out at Clinton in a post where he called her “crooked.” He had often called Clinton “crooked” during the presidential campaign. In another tweet, he said Clinton had “money” but “no game.”

In an official response, the White House called the memoir a sad end to Clinton’s career. White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders criticized the book and said, “I think it’s sad that after Hillary Clinton ran one of the most negative campaigns in history and lost, and the last chapter of her public life is going to be now defined by propping up book sales with false and reckless attacks, and I think that that’s a sad way for her to continue in this form.”

Clinton has also made a dramatic reference to Game of Thrones character Cersei Lannister in her book. The comparison is odd as the power hungry queen is not among the most beloved characters in the fantasy drama television series.

The former first lady talks about the “walk of the shame” scene where Cersei was stripped naked by religious zealots and made to walk from prison to palace in front of the people of her kingdom. The zealots punished Cersei for her sins. “Crowds at Trump rallies called for my imprisonment more times than I can count,” she…
