Transfer news live: Neymar’s PSG move in limbo as La Liga reject £198m offer, Liverpool handed Naby Keita boost

Luis Suarez has followed Lionel Messi’s lead and wished Neymar well ahead of his world record move to PSG.

Neymar is set to complete his much talked about move fromBarcelona to Paris Saint-Germain for what will be a world record £198m.

The Brazilian will soon put pen to paper on a move that is the talk of football and one which will shatter all previous records after an already remarkable summer of spending.

But PSG can recoup that transfer fee in shirt sales, right? Wrong.



La Liga have REJECTED Paris Saint-Germain’s £198m offer for Neymar, even though Uefa have confirmed that they have no jurisdiction to do to. Five lawyers arrived in Madrid to make the offer formal, but were turned away after entering the building and holding brief discussions.

Liverpool‘s hopes of signing Naby Keita have been boosted once again with RB Leipzig conceding their star midfielder is unlikely to sign a new contract with the club.

The Guinea international midfielder is Jurgen Klopp‘s top summer target and the Reds manager has seen a number of bids turned down with the upwardly mobile Bundesliga club refusing to countenance a sale this summer.

The 22-year-old has a release clause which becomes active at the end of next season with suggestions abound that the club were eager to tie Keita down to a fresh deal and subsequently remove the clause.

But sporting director Ralf Rangnick says that despite a willingness from his side Keita is unlikely to agree to any kind of extension.


Everton’s Kieran Dowell has joined Nottingham Forest on a season-long loan.




Leicester have reportedly rejected a £20m offer from Bournemouth for forward Demarai Gray, but this is unlikely to be the end of it. The youngster has a £22m release clause, and you would expect the Cherries to come back in for him if they can find the additional £2m.
