From curly-haired towhead Taylor with a guitar to sleek New York Taylor, we’ve all grown up during Taylor Swift’s dramatic rise to the top of music. And, whether we like it or not, it’s probably pretty correct to say that all of us have had a mad jam session to some sort of T Swift song AT LEAST once.
We all met the new Taylor Swift at the VMA’s this week, and look what it made us do — we looked back on some of her famously elaborate music videos.
We know the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now because she’s dead and all, but we decided to rank some of her most iconic videos anyway.
10. Wildest Dreams
It’s hard to even call this a music video because it’s basically a short movie. And it’s gorgeous. And it features Scott Eastwood. And giraffes. What more could we need?!
9. Shake It Off
Because not only is Shake It Off one of the most annoyingly catchy songs in the universe, but also because this music video is everything, and we’re all about showcasing awkwardness. We love the awkwardness over here.
8. Picture To Burn
This song has to be in the top 10 of the world’s best breakup songs EVER. EVER.
Also, a vengeful Taylor playing with fire and pickup trucks? Yep. Here for it.
7. You Belong With Me
Ahh, the sweet sound of high school love. 💓
A T Swift music video for the history books, if there ever was one. #iconic
6. Bad Blood ft. Kendrick Lamar
I mean, when a music video starts with Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez in an epic female power fight scene that escalates with someone falling out of a window, how can you go wrong?! And then when it includes everyone from Gigi Hadid and Ellen Pompeo to Zendaya and Hayley Williams, how could you EVER go wrong?!
5. Everything Has Changed ft. Ed Sheeran
Because these incredible kiddo versions of Taylor and Ed are PERFECTION.
Ours = one of Swift’s most underrated songs, from the actual track to the video. It’s complete with a super-awk Taylor circa 2011, and of course includes some v cute home videos (because, duh. It’s a Taylor Swift music video). But, most important? MATT SARACEN. MATT SARACEN IN UNIFORM.
3. Teardrops on My Guitar
Poor Drew — he didn’t even see it coming. However, Taylor Swift crying on her bed and cuddling a guitar with rhinestones on her face? A gem. A true, true 2000’s gem.
2. White Horse
The ultimate T-Swift breakup anthem right here, served with a side of post-Laguna Beach Stephen Colletti. A true classic.
1. Blank Space
