The Stages of Corporate Team Building

 

  • Corporate team building encourages company staff to work effectively.  If it is done properly it can increase employee productivity.  If you want to employ team building in your company you need to search out a good program that has been formulated by reliable and skilled coaches.

 

Corporate team building activities do not just facilitate your workers together, however, it will also teach your workers valuable skills that they don’t have. It also allows ne team members to explore what strengths they will bring to the team.  Before you proceed with corporate team building activities you need to define exactly your goals and expectations.

 

 

A lot of businesses today aimed that their staff will come together as a team; hence they provided a corporate team building activities.  In fact team operation is very crucial, that is why more corporations today are putting heavy focus on team building within their organization.  A company’s success is highly related to team building. Corporations are currently creating team building activities for their organization as it has proven to increase employee morale.  It has been found that employees work tougher and achieve a lot more by making employees feel that they are part of a team instead of single, replaceable entities. 

 

There are four stages of corporate team building:

 

  • During the forming stage the team is usually coming together for the first time. This stage can be stressful as members of the team are often nervous, uncertain of expectations and unfamiliar with the in charge manager of the team. During this time, it is the manager’s job to reassure and relax the group and bring them together with a positive and persuading attitude.  The rules and roles of team members during this stage are established and the objectives and goals are defined. 

 

  • The storming stage of team building creates some stormy waters that the team will have to explore.  Roles and rules that were defined in the forming stage were interpreted quite differently by team members, resulting in unexpected disagreements and conflicts. 

 

  •  The norming stage is often referred to as the calm after the storm.  In this stage issues and misunderstandings have been cleared up.  The individuals in the team now are already better acquainted with one another and feel more confident within the group.  Team members are more accepting of the input and ideas of other members as a result of confidence.
