Mesothelioma symptoms actually take a long period to appeared, meaning that many years will pass between exposure to asbestos and the development of the disease and the symptoms. In fact, patients with mesothelioma typically do not get realized any symptoms until several years after the initial asbestos exposure. Because mesothelioma symptoms exactly the same with those of less serious diseases, many patients who develop asbestos cancer are unaware of their potentially life-threatening condition.

One of them is pleural mesothelomia. Pleural is the lining of the lung organ. A common symptom experienced by those suffering from Pleural Mesothelioma is fluid retention between the parietal pleura and visceral pleura in the chest. The accumulation of fluid in the pleural cavity also known as pleural effusion contributed to the symptoms such as persistent dry or raspy cough; trouble swallowing; bloody cough; painful breathing; shortness of breath(SOB); chest or rib pain. The symptoms develop when the pleural thickening occur as a result of fluid buildup between membrane layers.
