Sunday: Manchin, Toomey, Cassidy, Entous and Bowden

After weeks of secretive negotiations and closed-door meetings, on Thursday Senate Republicans finally put forward their proposal to repeal & replace Obamacare. Though President Trump has praised the bill, not every GOP senator is on board.

That same day, the President finally laid to rest his threat that he might have taped his conversations with former FBI Director James Comey. And on Friday, Trump followed-up with yet another twist, stating that he planted the notion of tapes as a ruse to ensure Comey would testify honestly before Congress.

This Sunday on “Face the Nation” we’ll talk to Sen. Joe Manchin (R- West Virginia) about the new Republican healthcare proposal. Manchin, one of the few Senate Democrats willing to lend support to Republicans on healthcare reform, was a staunch critic of the healthcare proposal put forward by House Republicans in May. What are his thoughts on the bill?

We’ll also discuss the Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare with two Republicans who support the bill:  Sen. Pat Toomey (R- Pennsylvania) who is one of the key architects of the bill and Sen. Bill Cassidy (R – Louisiana) who has expressed his support for the bill but has not committed to vote for it.

To discuss his blockbuster Washington Post story detailing former President Barack Obama’s efforts to punish Russia for interfering in the 2016 election, we’ll sit down with reporter Adam Entous.

And as tensions remain high between the U.S. and North Korea, we’ll take a closer look at the situation with The Atlantic’s Mark Bowden, author of the new report “How to Deal with North Korea.”

Of course, we’ll have plenty of political analysis from this week’s politics panel: publisher of The Federalist Ben Domenech, Time Magazine’s Deputy Managing Editor Michael Duffy, Washington Post Congressional Reporter Ed O’Keefe, and the National Editor of the Cook Political Report Amy Walter.

There’s a lot to uncover this week. Check your local listings for times.
