Softron, a leading provider of recording, streaming and playout solutions for broadcast and live events, announced today that it has integrated technology from nablet into the new version of its flagship MovieRecorder ingest software.
With codecs and wrappers more important than ever, many companies are becoming frustrated with SDKs that lack support for the latest production formats. Instead, companies look for reliable and agile partners that can provide the latest codec technology, as well as premier expertise and support. nablet is such a provider, with SDKs for the latest popular formats including XDCAM, XAVC and others.
“We decided to switch to nablet after just a few e-mails with their team,” said Daniel Tapie, CEO of Softron. “Our products support most major formats, and nablet provides us with the quality and speed we need. We are happy to be working with them. Pricing was also an issue as we can now offer the ProCodecs as part of the application license and not as an additional option anymore.”
nablet also provides SDKs for packaging of MXF, IMF, TS and MP4. Other SDKs include smart rendering in popular production formats, and high-quality media processing technologies that include deep learning mechanisms to produce high-quality results. Softron utilizes nablet’s MXF technology and a variety of codecs and related components.
“We see growing demand for specialized codecs and proper container support,” said Muzaffer Beygirci, CEO of nablet. “We work closely with the creators of those formats to enable our clients to have the best possible video support in their products. This requires talents not only on the video side, but also a deep understanding of the formats in general to ensure the best packaging as well. Good video quality is only part of the puzzle. We also need to support audio, containers such as MXF or IMF, and all possible processor extensions.”
Softron will be exhibiting at the IBC Show, September 15-19 in Amsterdam, in Hall 7, Stand G12. nablet will exhibit in Hall 7, Stand A49.
