Santa Margarita drama students debut original play at national thespian festival – Orange County Register

Punctuation can be powerful.

Students at Santa Margarita Catholic High School proved this when they presented their original play, “Semicolon,” to the public for the first time June 22 and received overwhelming support and praise.

Written by Raiya Browning, Hannah Billups, Hannah Loessberg and Griffin Webb, all 17, “Semicolon” started as an assignment for their IB theater class. The play deals with teen suicide and takes its name and premise from the suicide prevention group Project Semicolon.
