Rockin’ Peruvian nuns to headline ChristFest at Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove – Orange County Register

On a blustery night outside of Chicago, in a tiny parish hall, Dan McCue sat in shock as he watched a petite Filipino nun in a black-and-white habit step on the pedal and rip a guitar solo.

The nun was flanked by 10 other sisters belonging to the order of the Servants of the Plan of God. And they all rocked.

And thanks to McCue’s scouting report from that event, the band of nuns from Lima, Peru, who call themselves Siervas, or “The Servants,” will bring their unique brand of spiritual rock to Christ Cathedral in Garden Grove Friday, Sept. 8 and Saturday Sept. 9, as they headline the two-day music festival ChristFest.

It will be their major U.S. debut.
