What is Rheumatoid Arthritis? I have heard of people having it but I am not certain what it is. I have seen many people suffering from what they call a form of arthritis, but when does it become Rheumatoid?

Rheumatoid Arthritis is a crippling type of arthritis. People suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis or RA typically have swollen joints. Their fingers get swollen and get deformed. Rheumatoid Arthritis is a degenerative disease that causes the interior lining of the joints to swell up. The immune system of the body rebels against itself attacking the healthy lining of the joints. The damage as a result of RA is irreversible. It is also possible that Rheumatoid Arthritis will attack the other organs of your body such as heart, lungs, and skin. Rheumatoid Arthritis has been found to be more common in women than in to men. That doesn’t mean that men are safe from it, there are just lesser chances of developing Rheumatoid Arthritis.

The American diet is the main culprit behind the development of Rheumatoid Arthritis. It has been found that RA is caused by an over abundance of consuming too much polyunsaturated fats and the deficiency of omega 3 in our diets. In fact we are getting excess of omega 6 as compared to omega 3. If the diet is low in omega 3 fatty acids, the omega 6 could be making the RA worse for many. Omega 3 counteracts what Omega 6 does. The swelling of the tissue.

People who wonder if they are developing RA are difficult to confirm at the early stages of the disease. So many of the symptoms of RA are the same symptoms for many other diseases such as always feeling tired, lack of energy or desire to do things, don’t eat much and the other types of arthritis.
