RE/MAX Realtor and martial arts competitor Jeremy Wynia recently won his bout at the F2W Pro 34 Colorado State Championships. The fight between Wynia and his opponent, Mike Martin, was awarded the honor of “fight of the night.” Wynia, who is also the winner of the 2016 World Master International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation Championship, donated his winnings to the Children’s Hospital Colorado Foundation.
“This event and this cause are near and dear to my heart. I have coached high school wrestling in Colorado for 10 years. One of my wrestlers became ill just after enrolling in college. He was diagnosed with cancer and stayed at the Denver Children’s Hospital. He passed away while in their care. He was such a great kid and loved combat sports,” said Wynia. “I felt that this was a way to bring things full circle — donate to a cause that helped him and his family and do it by participating in a Fight to Win event. Fight to Win is always looking to grow combat sports by creating a platform for those with a wrestling, judo, or jiu-jitsu background to compete on a big stage and make some money doing it. I am just glad I am able to help, even in a small way.”
