This story cookbook highlights the timeless gifts that often accompany handed-down recipes.

After hearing culinary contest competitors say they felt they had been guided by loved ones, Carole Mann, a self-professed clairvoyant, was inspired to write “Recipes from the Other Side: A Story Cookbook” (published by LifeRich Publishing), which shares recipes from amateurs and professionals and stories about why their recipes are meaningful to them.

“This story cookbook highlights the timeless gifts that often accompany handed-down recipes,” Mann says. “Since I have never really been that accomplished in the kitchen I decided to share these stories and recipes for a special reason – some of these recipes are over 100 years old and will keep on being handed down.”

The book offers chefs of any level to reflect on memories of recipes from loved ones who have died. Home cooks and famous chefs such as Bobby Flay, Paula Deen, Ree Drummond and Simon Majumdar all contributed recipes along with reminiscences about other times they made the recipe with others.
