Rams-Chargers joint practice turns ugly – Orange County Register

You could say it was bound to happen but the phrase “Fight for LA” has officially been taken to the next level.

It is still the preseason but members of the Rams and Chargers held nothing back as a number of “scuffles” broke out during Wednesday’s joint practice at UC Irvine.

The video above shows Chargers receiver Keenan Allen (#13) tackle Rams defensive back Nickell Robey-Coleman (#23) to the ground. Robey-Coleman is a former USC Trojan football player.

Our Rams’ beat writer Rich Hammond scored the round in favor of the Chargers.

In the video below, veteran tight end Antonio Gates of the Chargers was seen in the aftermath calling Rams rookie nose tackle Louis Trinca-Pasat “a kid.”

Fans at the pracitce could also be heard starting up a chant showing support for their favorite team.

Lets not forget that the two teams plan on being roommates when the new stadium in Inglewood opens.
