Parker Bridwell outduels Doug Fister as Angels beat Red Sox – Orange County Register

BOSTON — The Angels’ 4-2 victory over the Boston Red Sox on Sunday was a win for the players and for the club’s front office.

Earlier this week, the Angels had to decide whether to call up Doug Fister or allow him to become a free agent, per the terms of the deal he signed last month. They chose to let Fister go, in part because of their confidence in Parker Bridwell.

Fister, by coincidence, ended up opposing the Angels, and Bridwell, on Sunday.

Bridwell gave up two runs and Fister gave up three.
