Novel Tackles Redemption From One’s Failure

Warren R. B. Dixon’s “Yestermorrow” (published by Xlibris) is for the virtuoso English reader, a reference to those who would not be bored by Lampedusa’s “The Leopard,” the English translation of “Il Gattodopardo.” “Yestermorrow” moves slowly and lingers over details evoking a history, in this case a year in the life of a middle-aged artist, failed in the world’s eye and a success in his own. In the book, readers will follow the lives of Morgan Sizemore and Ragnar Jack.

Morgan gets by as an out-of-place professor in an outback college. Ragnar, his best friend, is a womanizing compatriot from the same American faculty. Now in Europe for a year in a G.I. professoriate on military bases, he is living his days of wine and dandelions that last somewhat longer than the days of wine and roses. Joining them is Samantha, a golden retriever.

Published in 2014, “Yestermorrow” is set to have a new book campaign. “It is a book set to its own internal methodical pace, offering an enjoyable read without the blockbuster action or suspense of thrillers, enabling a relaxing reflection of pensive situations from a period not long ago, but nowadays seemingly lost in history,” the author describes the novel.
