New Slater’s 50/50 owner begins brand overhaul with brunch, happy hour makeover and franchise deals – Orange County Register
Big changes are underway at Slater’s 50/50, whose new ownership has inked deals to franchise the bacon-centric burger brand in Las Vegas, Texas, Temecula and Los Angeles.
Since taking ownership of the burger chain in June, Elite Restaurant Group of Los Angeles has made swift changes to the Orange County-born brand. Besides launching franchise agreements, Slater’s is introducing a new look in Huntington Beach, adding Sunday brunch and overhauling its happy hour program.
The company also is dipping its toes in retail with a plan to sell its frozen patties at Sam’s Club.
The brand transformation comes eight years after the first Slater’s 50/50 opened in Anaheim Hills. The full-service better burger brand received national buzz early on for its half-bacon, half-ground beef patties, which were featured on cable network food and travel shows.
The new happy hour at Slater’s 50/50 runs from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and restarts again from 9 p.m. to close. The revised menu includes 50 percent off craft beer, wine and cocktails. A Bar Bites menu features mini hot dogs, tater tots, lettuce wraps, pretzels and cheese and mozzarella sticks ranging in price from $3 to $6. (Courtesy Slater’s 50/50)
