San Clemente’s summer of music reaches its pinnacle this weekend with the town fiesta, an annual event produced by the Chamber of Commerce since 1954.
The city will barricade the top two blocks of Avenida Del Mar for the San Clemente Fiesta Music Festival, a day-long celebration of summer from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13.
There will be three sound stages, 17 bands and other stage performers along with food, game booths, exhibits, contests, a children’s jump house, numerous other attractions for kids, an art show, a business expo, a motorcycle display, an action-sports expo and the Salsa Challenge.
Admission is free. To avoid a parking crunch, park at San Clemente High School where a free shuttle will operate from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Also, the city’s summer trolleys, which run from the Outlets at San Clemente to North Beach, downtown and the pier, will operate a modified route skirting the festivities.

Stage 1, top of Del Mar: 9 a.m. David Cassidy/Barry Manilow tribute artist Francesca Jule; 10 a.m. Hula Hoop contest; 10:30 a.m. local percussionist RooStar; 11:30 a.m. pie-eating contest; noon, the tribute outlaw country band Bad Hombres; 1 p.m. ice-cream eating contest; 1:30 p.m. alternative pop/rock band Adam’s Attic; 2:30 p.m. jump-rope contest; 3 p.m. cut-loose rock band Boxcar Chief; 4 p.m. tortilla toss; 4:30 p.m. mostly 70s-80s rock by Hot Mess Mojo.
