Mater Dei-St. John Bosco final stacked with top uncommitted senior recruits – Orange County Register

The CIF-SS Division 1 football final between Mater Dei and St. John Bosco will assemble numerous blue-chip college prospects from the classes of 2018 to 2020. Here are five of the top uncommitted seniors to watch Saturday night at Cerritos College:

St. John Bosco

#51 Jace Fuamata, OL: The punishing blocker (6-3, 300) makes an impact at either guard or tackle. He recently landed an offer from Hawaii and is coveted by Fresno State among others.

#2 Spencer Gilbert, LB: Gilbert (6-0, 205) plays physical with a strong motor. He is a key matchup for Mater Dei running back Shakobe Harper and Chris Street. He also recorded the Braves’ lone sack and recovered a fumble in the teams’ league showdown.

#86 Sal Spina, DE/TE: The powerful senior (6-2, 268) has committed to Stanford for shot put, so he might be off the board for college football. Or he could try the Malik McMorris (Cal/Mater Dei) route and balance track and football at the next level. He forced a fumble against Mater Dei in league.

Mater Dei

#8 Amon-Ra St. Brown, WRi: Arguably the top receiver in the country, the speedy and sure-handed St. Brown has visited Notre Dame and Michigan but also has expressed interest in Stanford and USC. He has 57 catches for 1,057 yards and 18 TDs in 10 games. He caught two TDs and returned a punt for a TD in the teams league game Oct. 13.

#3 Solomon Tuliaupupu, LB: The senior (6-3, 230) nicknamed “Solo” is another top national recruit that most colleges would love to have. He leads the Monarchs’ defense in total tackles with 63 and vocal leadership on the field. He had 2.5 sacks against the Braves in the league game.

#30 Nathan Logoleo, DE: The speedy but under-sized defensive end (5-11, 245) has delivered a breakout season with 15 sacks, a single-season school record. Logoleo broke the 1998 record of Dustin Davis (14) last week against Mission Viejo. Teammate Mase Funa, a rising junior linebacker, has questioned why Logoleo has no offers but if schools can get past his height, they’ll find a diamond in the rough. He had a team-high eight total against St. John Bosco in league.
