The Colavita family traces its roots to the small town of Sant’Elia a Pianisi, about twenty miles to the east of Campobasso, in the Molise region of Italy. Colavita began its long history of quality production as a small olive mill founded four generations ago by Giovanni and Felice Colavita. Today, the founders’ great grandchildren carry forth the tradition of producing extra virgin olive oil and other superior quality specialty food products using the same knowledge and expertise handed down from their ancestors.
