Lasith Malinga Bowling Magic In IPL

Start As An IPL Player – Lasith  Malinga has been playing in the Indian premier league since its commencement i.e. 2008, for the team Mumbai Indians. He was selected for a huge sum of $350,000 in the league. The tournament was though not a big success for the team, but Malinga had been consistent in his performance and his bowling took away the hearts of many a players and the audience too. The right hand fast bowler was appreciated for his great show in the IPL first season.

Malinga in IPL second season : This Sri Lankan player proved to be a true bliss for his team Mumbai Indians in the second season of Indian Premier League, where he, in just first five matches that he got to play, took 11 wickets at an economy of 4.36. Believe it or not, but he actually took a wicket on every tenth ball and gave 7.25 runs. This was an unbelievable do from this man who had completely been out of the international cricket for a stretched out period because of an injury. The chemistry between him and Zaheer Khan resulted in defeat of the team KKR, and the credit whole goes to Malinga for his bowling. It was assumed that the award for highest wicket taker in 2009 IPL series is Malinga’s only.

Shining Malinga in IPL 2010 : The match played against Kings X1 punjab, could have been a disaster for the team Mumbai, had Lasith Malinga not taken three wickets in four balls. It was a record in its own and the result was obvious – the win for the Mumbai Indians. In 2010, Lasith again proved that he has been the perfect selection for the team who lacked a fast bowler initially in 2008. He was also the 3rd highest wicket taker in the 2010 IPL tournament after the 30th match.

2011-2012 Malinga starry performances and his injury : Award holder for the highest wicket taker, Lasith took 27 wickets in 2011 and his best show in bowling was in the match against team Delhi in 2011 when he took 5 wickets for 13 runs.
