“Where are all my monsters?” Lady Gaga called to her loyal brood, just before launching into “Bad Romance” near the end of her two-hour set Tuesday night at the Forum in Inglewood.
Her little monsters were there all night long, hanging on every last lyric, mimicking her dance moves with a good portion of the crowd dressed up in a variety of their Mama Monster’s most memorable fashion choices.
Gaga’s fifth concert trek, The Joanne World Tour – named after her fifth studio album, “Joanne,” which dropped last fall – kicked off on Tuesday, Aug. 1 in Vancouver, Canada. It includes a total of three stops at the Forum including Aug. 8 and 9 and, after the jaunt bounces around the globe, it will officially conclude back in Inglewood on Monday, Dec. 18.
Gaga, a 31-year-old New York-native who said she has called Malibu her home for the better part of a decade now, definitely seems to have a soft spot for Southern California. And why wouldn’t she? These fans adore her.
Though the ticket time said 7:30 p.m. Gaga didn’t hit the stage until 9:15 p.m. and even without an opener, her followers – of all ages, ethnicities, genders, shapes and sizes – seemed to keep themselves entertained.
