How do you get kids in China to just say no? Give them a really bad drug trip, courtesy of virtual reality.
Mashable reports that children in China’s Guangdong province were shown a VR video filled with psychedelic shapes and colors meant to mimic the experience of taking drugs like MDMA and LSD.
It was part of a UN campaign against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, and it seems to have worked: The kids were shaken up, saying the experience scared them. One little girl was so uncomfortable, she begged for the video to be stopped.
