I wanted to provide a deeper understanding of alternative investments and their role in a portfolio.

Try Googling “investing”, and over 311 million search results appear. No investor has the patience to sift through them all, and those at the top are likely the most viewed, but does that necessarily mean those ‘popular’ approaches are right for you?
As author Bob Klosterman points out, “Alternative investments are the path less taken.”
Helping investors break away from the herd is one of the reasons he wrote The Other Path: Illuminating the Path Toward Reduced Volatility While Achieving Equity-Type Returns.
“I wanted to provide a deeper understanding of alternative investments and their role in a portfolio. The word “alternative” is too often understood as a broad category of investing rather than a collection of many different types of investments with differing characteristics. Investors want to know the difference,” Klosterman said.
“The White Oaks organization was created with the purpose of delivering our best advice to our clients. This book is simply a culmination of decades of that work in a format people can understand.”
This is Klosterman’s second book. His first, The Four Horsemen of the Investor’s Apocalypse, touches on four contributors to financial self-destruction.
He says eager investors might be able to expect more writing from him.
“There is likely another book in me somewhere! There are plenty of topics and financial concepts to help the investing public understand and build upon.”
