HPCS and Global Skincare Company Organize Memorial Area Drive to Collect Items Needed for Houston Families After Hurricane Harvey

Houston Plastic Craniofacial & Sinus Surgery (HPCS) has partnered with global skincare company ZO Skin Health by Dr. Zein Obagi, to host the event Thursday, September 7th, 11:30am – 3:30pm, near the intersection of Blalock and Interstate 10, in the lobby of Spring Valley Medical Plaza, 9230 Katy Freeway, Spring Valley Village, TX 77055.

As the flood water recedes, the real work begins. The Houston school district serves approximately 215,000 students and is still working to assess the damage. With damage to 35 of HISD’s school buildings, the needs of the families it serves are immense. The drive is collecting school supplies, backpacks, and all-sizes of socks and underwear for adults and children. Cosmetic and Reconstructive surgeon and HPCS founder Dr. Sean Boutros explains, “The need now is very specific, so our efforts to help are just as focused.”

Members of the Gallery Furniture team will distribute the donations to deserving Houston families; 1000 of which are still being cared for and served in its Houston stores that have become ad-hoc shelters. Regarding the recent outpouring of donations from the community, Houston philanthropist and Gallery Furniture business owner James “Mattress Mack” McIngvale said “It reaffirms your faith in mankind when you see people coming in and giving up what they don’t need. There’s an incredible outpouring of support. It’s just tremendous.”

Global skincare company ZO Skin Health by Dr. Zein Obagi Regional Sales Director Jackie Castaneda, through her personal efforts with a quick and effective GoFundMe campaign, and supported by matching donations of her employer ZO Skin Health, together have raised over $15,000 to help four Houston families who lost everything in the recent floods. “This devastating flood has affected us all, and now it’s time to roll up our sleeves and help our community and especially the kids that need it most,” said Castaneda.

At the event, four families affected by the flood will receive Gallery Furniture gift cards to use as they rebuild their homes and lives. Free BBQ provided by Dicky’s BBQ and a free ZO Skin Health facial cleanser for the first 50 donations.
