How a death in a Queen Mary oven inspired this year’s Dark Harbor Halloween attraction – Orange County Register

This is a grisly Halloween tale.

Decades ago, so goes the story, a chef was murdered on board the Queen Mary by being shoved into his own oven and burned alive.

And now, dressed in a tattered and charred chef’s coat and apron, this frightening foodie is once again roaming the ship’s kitchen as the latest spirit to join the band of ghosts, monsters and ghouls who take over the ship for the annual Dark Harbor Halloween event.

“Look at that face; it’s a face only a mother can love. Thankfully now I have someone that’s useful to me this year. Go make me a burger, Chef,” shouted the Captain, the head Dark Harbor spirit.
