High school teams take action to deal with heat dangers – Orange County Register

The heat wave this week in Southern California has forced area high schools to adjust practice and game times for their sports team, and to adhere to guidelines that are in place to protect the safety of the athletes.

The San Fernando Valley and Inland regions have felt the most disruption, as temperatures in those areas have soared well above 100 degrees since Monday.
In the L.A. City Section, some football teams have cancelled practices and many have cut back on their outdoor activities. The City teams are supposed to play Thursday due to the Labor Day weekend. As of Tuesday afternoon, there was no word from City administrators about plans to postpone the games.
