Here what Southern California’s Defend DACA protests look like – Orange County Register

Shortly after Jeff Sessions announced that President Trump would phase out DACA, protesters took to the streets to voice their disapproval and to show support for Dreamers who are affected by the change.

The demonstration was the first of several planned across the region Tuesday.

Here is what the demonstrations looked like.


Roughly 200 people, lead by drummers, marched from San Marco Park to the office of representative Mimi Walters in Irvine.

Los Angeles

Dozens assembled downtown holding signs that showed their support for DACA legislation.

County Supervisor Hilda Solis spoke at the rally.

Dreamers and immigrant activists spoke and chanted.

Rallies Later Today

Several more rallies are scheduled to take place this afternoon and evening, including one at Cal State Long Beach at 2 p.m.

University of California, Los Angeles will also have one at 4 p.m.
