Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin announced their shocking split in a joint statement following 10 years of marriage on Tuesday (March 25, 2014). The news came just days after the superstar couple had splashed out on a $14 million John Lautner-designed home in Malibu, California. “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate,” Gwyneth Paltrow wrote on her website Goop. “We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separate, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.”
Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin met at a Coldplay concert in October 2002. They tied the knot in 2003 and have two children together, seven-year-old son Moses and nine-year-old daughter Apple. They recently moved to Los Angeles after living in London for nine years. Now that the estranged pair are officially headed for divorce.

The pair were said to have a rumoured combined net worth of around $147million. They had five properties together, including a loft in the Tribeca area of New York and a summer home in The Hamptons in addition to the $14million Malibu beach house.
