Gotoky, a New Device that Allows Mobile Network Connectivity in Remote Locations and During Natural Disasters, Launches on Kickstarter

Gotoky was created to give every smartphone user the ability to create their own mobile network coverage when they’re experiencing poor mobile network coverage in secluded and remote areas, to avoid the excessive cost of communications when traveling and communicate during disasters.

Gotoky, the advanced secure off-grid communication device that enables smartphones (iOS and Android) to operate and create Mesh network (your own network) where service is unavailable, unreliable or unaffordable, today launched on Kickstarter.

Co-founder and CEO Denis Loncar saw an immediate need for the product when he had no signal and no way to ask for help when he was injured hiking in the mountains, serving as the catalyst for the creation of Gotoky.

“We really want to make this world more connected and safer, and the Gotoky offers any smartphone user an easy and affordable way to make sure they always have a signal, especially in case of an emergency,” said Loncar. “My story had a happy ending, but only because I was rescued by some other hikers who happened into my area.”

Through that experience, Loncar and Gotoky Co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer Katja Lipicnik hope to help others in similar situations, whether it’s during natural disasters or in remote locations.

“Gotoky was created to give every smartphone user the ability to create their own mobile network coverage when they’re experiencing poor mobile network coverage in secluded and remote areas, to avoid the excessive cost of communications when traveling, and to have the ability to communicate in cases of manmade or natural disasters when communication is crucial but impossible to achieve,” Loncar said.

When Gotoky is paired with a smartphone, users can securely:

  • Talk (1-to-1 and group communications)
  • Send texts (1-to-1 and to a group)
  • Activate an ‘Emergency Location Beacon’ when in distress
  • Use navigation
  • Send GPS locations to other Gotoky users on detailed off-line topographic maps
  • Use real time tracking
  • Create events
  • Ping a location

Gotoky works over standard license-free radio frequencies and it doesn’t require any cellular infrastructure or satellites. The device automatically and securely relays messages over…
