Going to VidCon 2017? Here’s what to know about tickets, featured guests and more – Orange County Register

Billed as the event “for people who love online video,” VidCon 2017 kicks off this week at the Anaheim Convention Center.  Now in its eighth year, the annual convention will bring together internet video celebrities, thousands of their fans, and industry experts around the topic of digital video content and online entertainment.

Here’s what to know:

Dates: VidCon 2017 starts on Wednesday, June 21 and runs through Saturday, June 24. Sunday, June 25 is “Disney Day,” when attendees spend the day at Disneyland (requires purchase of a Disneyland ticket).

Tickets: The Community badges cost $150. These are available until noon today, Tuesday, June 20, as are passes for industry professionals at $750.  Creator passes are sold out.  Adult chaperones need to purchase tickets to accompany their children.

After noon today, tickets will be sold onsite Wednesday.

Parking: Parking is available in several lots at and around the Anaheim Convention Center.

Guests: “Featured Creators” include founders Hank and John Green, Jenna Marbles, Cassie Ho of Blogilates, Anthony Padilla, Tyler Oakley (who will host the kickoff concert) and many more. See the full list.

Security: In 2016, VidCon doubled down on security after the shooting death of singer and YouTube celebrity Christina Grimmie.  This year, expect to see uniformed officers and dogs at the Anaheim Convention Center.  Attendees will have to pass through metal detectors and undergo a bag inspection to get to Meet & Greet sessions.
