Go Country’s midday guest host Jake Owen will close out Pacific Amphitheatre’s Summer Concert Series – Orange County Register

Country singer-songwriter Jake Owen is looking forward to spending most of August in Southern California.

The 35-year-old Vero Beach, Florida native will be out on the West Coast to sit in as a guest host on Go Country 105.1/FM’s midday show in Los Angeles for the month. A new country star – which in the past has included Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Chris Lane and Cassadee Pope – takes over the time slot for the entire month to share personal stories, play their favorite country music and connect with fans during the weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Owen began his gig Monday, July 31, and will be in control through Friday, Aug. 26.

“It was a really good opportunity,” he said during a phone interview while at a tour stop in Central Point, Oregon late last month. Growing up he never really had aspiration to be a radio DJ, though this “seemed like a pretty cool deal and I’ve already started working on it,” he continued.

Though his stay will be mostly all work and no play, Owen said he’ll definitely make time to hit up the beach and he’ll be closing out Pacific Amphitheatre’s 2017 Summer Concert Series with openers Honey County on Sunday, Aug. 13 in Costa Mesa. Since his show also lands on the final day of the…
