Take your pick of summer festivities this weekend, including the South Lake Union Block Party on Friday, Aug. 11, Rainier Valley Heritage Parade and Festival on Saturday, Aug. 12, and Othello International Festival on Sunday, Aug. 13, all in Seattle. South Lake Union Block Party kicks off the weekend with food vendors, a beer garden, music by local bands and activities for all ages Friday. The party continues until 11 p.m., and proceeds benefit Mary’s Place programs for homeless women and families.
The Rainier Valley Heritage Parade and Festival takes over the Columbia City neighborhood with a community parade, car show and festival on Saturday. Festivities at Othello International Festival, also in Rainier Valley, feature multicultural performances, art activities, a zip line, food vendors and a petting zoo on Sunday.

Rainier Valley Heritage Parade and Festival
Time: Parade, 10 a.m.; festival, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12.

Othello International Festival
Time: Noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 13.

Taste of Edmonds
Time: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 11-13.
Cost: $5/day, ages 12 and younger free.

Mount Rainier National Park
Cost: $15/vehicle for seven days; $10/walk or bike in.
