Dodgers’ bullpen betrays them again as latest losing streak reaches four – Orange County Register

With an offense sputtering on fumes and a bullpen leaking oil, it looks like the Dodgers might have to get out and push before they reach the finish line.

The bats came to life long enough to score three runs in the seventh inning and hand a lead to the bullpen Wednesday night. But another reliever pitching his way out of the postseason picture – Ross Stripling – served up two home runs in the bottom of the seventh and the Philadelphia Phillies scored twice more in the eighth to hand the Dodgers’ their third straight loss in Philadelphia, 7-5, Wednesday night.

There were rolls of plastic taped to the ceiling in the visitors’ clubhouse at Citizens Bank Park when the Dodgers arrived Wednesday, just in case they would have reason to celebrate after a late-night viewing party of the Arizona Diamondbacks’ game in San Diego.
