Did Kim Kardashian Steal Rihanna’s Shoe Design?

Twitter users have accused Kim Kardashian of allegedly stealing Rihanna’s original shoe design from her collection Fenty Puma. Kardashian, 36, shared two pictures of the new faux fur slider shoe with her 55.6 million followers Sept. 14, which will be distributed through her collaboration with The Kids Supply x AKID. Kardashian is working with her husband Kanye West to create the kid-friendly collection.

Rihanna, 29, has proven to be a trendsetter in beauty and fashion. Fans of the “Wild Thoughts” singer, naturally, weren’t pleased to see Kardashian’s seemingly similar shoe design. Rihanna’s furry slides shoe, which was made for adults and not children, first launched in April. The shoe retails for $88.

“Another Akid collab with nude faux fur slides,” Kardashian wrote about the shoes in a tweet.

Kardashian’s shoe, which retails at $48, tends to resemble Rihanna’s design in style and color. Rihanna’s navy quickly dragged Kardashian for her alleged lack of originality.

“There we go again, you should really run a check to Rihanna, caus[e] u sure love recycling her old looks,” one user tweeted. “Rihanna’s Fenty Slides are the only fur sandals we acknowledge,” a second user added. A third user posed a question, saying, “You gon[na] steal Rihanna accent next?”

“How dare Kim K try to compete w Rihanna wit[h] a similar product,” another user tweeted. “That’s not how business works omggg cancelled.”

Many Twitter users did come to Kardashian’s defense.

“Y’all have got to stop staying Kim K’s fur slides are copying Rih’s, when Rihanna got the entire idea of fur slides from Riccardo Tisci,” one user wrote in a tweet.

A second user added, “Everyones talking about how Kim K stole Rihanna’s fenty slippers design but…”

Neither party has commented about the alleged copy. Kardashian, however, has retweeted fans who support her faux fur slides and other items in the collection.

A representative for Rihanna and Kim Kardashian did not immediately return International Business Times’ request for comment.

This isn’t the first time the Kardashian-Jenner clan have come under fire for allegedly stealing ideas…
