Bungie have confirmed that all PS4 and Xbox One Destiny 2 players can look forward to playing the game on September 6.
The Destiny 2 release date has been known for sometime and now the development team have confirmed the final launch times.
And lucky for everybody, Destiny 2 is set to be deployed in a way that should keep everyone happy.
Keeping it simple, Bungie have announced that Destiny 2 launch times will be set at midnight in all countries.
And the even better news is that Destiny 2 will be deploying as soon as it reaches midnight, no matter what time zone you live in.
That means that when it reaches release time in New York, players in LA will also get access.
Here’s Bungie explaining their plan: “ Destiny 2 will have a rolling midnight release across the globe.
“You will be able to play the game as soon as it is 12 AM, September 6, anywhere in your country or in some cases region.
“In the US, for example, that means the entire country is live when the clock strikes midnight Eastern.
“It’s going to be a busy night. If you plan to go hard right out of the gate, get some sleep, remember to stretch, and be wary of spoilers if you’re looking to go in blind.
“Stay close to @BungieHelp for updates as the night unfolds. We’ll be staying up with you to make sure you’re kept informed of any important information you may need.”
In the grand scheme of things, this means that countries like Australia and New Zealand will be the first places to go live.
Fans will likely want to pre-load the game if they have a digital pre-order, as doing so will mean avoiding the rush around launch time.
It’s also very likely that there will be server wobbles throughout launch day, it happened with the original and is almost certainly going to affect some gamers on September 6.
Recent leaks have confirmed that the likes of Xur and his pack of goodies will be back on Fridays, although Bungie haven’t confirmed when this feature will kick-off.
And following the big launch later this week, Bungie have prepared some new events for Guardians to take part in.
These Destiny Endgame activities will be ready and waiting as soon as you play your way through to them.
Bungie have so far confirmed these new events:
- Nightfall: Ready when you are
- Raid: 10 AM PT, September 13
- Trials: 10 AM PT, September 15
