Matthew and Kristi Foster couldn’t have planned their wedding any better.
They had a special “something new” when they got married on Wednesday at the chapel in OU Children’s Hospital. They had their newborn baby boy.
“As a mother, it’s hard to see your child go through something like that and not being able to do anything other than pray. A lot of prayer,” Kristi Foster said.
Kristi and Matt Foster’s baby boy, Robert “Dutch” Foster, was born on June 11 — 10 weeks early — weighing 3 pounds 3 ounces.
“He’s healthy. He’s great. He’s got really good reports,” Kristi Foster said. “Every day is a steady improvement, so hopefully, we’ll be able to go home in the next month, month and a half.”
The couple planned to get married on Wednesday, the anniversary of their first date. Little “Dutch” just changed their plans a bit.
Their family came to the hospital to watch the couple tie the knot.
“He was ready to come into this world, so God knows what’s best,” Dutch’s great-grandmother, Luddie Davis, said. “He seems to be just perfect. Now to get him home and to spoil him.”
Matthew and Kristi Foster sealed their marriage with a kiss and walked down the aisle and straight to their bundle of joy.
