The company behind the world’s first private healthcare-specific cryptocurrency has named Stephen R. Gotberg as its president.
Gotberg, formerly Senior VP of Design and Construction for Quiznos and winner of QSR magazine’s Best New Management Team award, has 20 years of corporate experience in Fortune 500 and multi-billion dollar companies, with a special focus on successful multi-level marketing ventures. Gotberg’s most recent activities included performance consulting to help build value in startups and turn around troubled companies.
Gotberg graduated in chemical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania where he played football, and continued on to Penn’s Wharton Graduate School of Business. He attended ongoing executive courses at UCLA Anderson School of Management, Northwestern Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Steve and his wife of 34 years, Kim, have three adult daughters and one granddaughter. He spends much of his free time leading Christian Bible Studies and has served as an Interim Pastor.
“My goal at CoinMD is to help create the environment for our team members to achieve and exceed their dreams, as we together build the world’s first universal healthcare marketplace that accepts cryptocurrency,” he says.
Gotberg’s leadership will provide a key decision-making foundation for CoinMD’s innovative strategy. The company’s private cryptocurrency is designed to provide a store of value against the ever-rising costs of healthcare, allowing future retirees to afford quality care otherwise out of reach for most Americans.
“The entire team at CoinMD is excited to work with Stephen. His qualifications leave no room for doubt that his leadership will prove invaluable for years to come,” says Thomas McMurrain, who remains CEO of CoinMD.
With a track record building startups and solving business problems, Gotberg brings valuable experience to CoinMD’s management team. His experience will help the company’s founding members and stakeholders navigate the uncharted environment for healthcare cryptocurrency.
