Cal State Fullerton students get into the swing at Discoverfest – Orange County Register

From medieval swordsmanship to salsa dancing, about 200 clubs displayed their activities at Cal State Fullerton on Wednesday, Aug. 30, as students wandered around to see what interested them.

Presented by Student Life & Leadership, Discoverfest is CSUF’s largest involvement event for student organizations. The event continuing Thursday showcases clubs and organizations and provides students the chance to learn about engagement opportunities on campus. Discoverfest takes place the second week of every fall and spring semester.

“This helps make the college experience more successful,” said Anthony Pang, Student Life and Leadership associate director. “Getting involved in those types of organizations helps enhance the Titan experience.”

There are more than 375 student organizations on campus. For a complete list, go to Titanlink.

Max Baranoff was on his way to find the College Republicans club when he was distracted by the sword fighting on the lawn. After some tutoring from Jay Fonacier, assistant instructor of the Medieval Swordsmanship Club, he was sold. “They are so welcoming here,” said Baranoff. “I plan to join.”
