Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough have responded to President Donald Trump’s Twitter attack against them, calling the president “not well.”
In a Washington Post editorial posted Friday morning, the ‘Morning Joe’ hosts say the president is “not mentally equipped to continue watching our show.”
“The president’s unhealthy obsession with our show has been in the public record for months, and we are seldom surprised by his posting nasty tweets about us,” the pair continued.
Brzezinski, 50, and Scarborough, 54, were responding to tweets posted by Trump on Thursday that referred to the couple as ‘crazy’ and ‘psycho.’ Trump went even further saying Brzezinski was “bleeding badly from a face-lift” when the pair visited Mar-a-Lago over New Year’s Eve.
The President’s tweets garnered swift condemnation from both sides of the aisle.
“Obviously I don’t see that as an appropriate comment,” said Speaker of the House Paul Ryan.
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham, called Trump’s actions “beneath the office and represents what is wrong with American politics.”
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi called the tweets “an insult to all women” and demanded the President apologize.
Democratic Congresswoman Barbara Lee said “I want my GOP colleagues to explain to my 3 granddaughters why they think these viciously sexist comments are acceptable from our President.”
Both Brzezinski and Scarborough are expected to make a further statement on their show Friday morning….
