Corinne Olympios and DeMario Jackson have been spotted together lately, but the former stressed that they are not dating.
Olympios and Jackson first made headlines after their controversial “Bachelor in Paradise” sex scandal made headlines that prompted ABC to suspend the reality show. The viewers and fans were divided when Olympios claimed that she was drunk and felt that Jackson took advantage of her. A number defended Jackson, Olympios apologized and the duo continues their friendship.
On Tuesday, photos of Jackson and Olympios holding hands at Disneyland made rounds online. When asked about their relationship, the reality star said “Damned if we do, damned if we don’t,” Entertainment Tonight reported. Olympios added that they are just friends.
“DeMario and I are close friends. We are not dating,” the “Bachelor” alum said. “We were hanging out with a group at Disneyland, and I have no problem holding hands with any of my friends. Since things with ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ wound down, DeMario and I talk almost every day. We both know neither of us made the complaint that started everything, so why wouldn’t we be friends? We’ve been able to move forward and he’s like a brother to me.”
Prior to their Disneyland trip, Olympios and Jackson were spotted at TAO in Hollywood enjoying dinner. At that time, they were also asked about their relationship status and Olympios stressed that they are platonic. “We’re just friends,” she said.
Olympios is single after her ex-boyfriend Jordan Gielchinsky who initially chose to stick with her following the “BiP” scandal decided to move on from their romance. It seemed that she was not brokenhearted from their split because over the Labor Day weekend she was spotted kissing and cuddling a mystery man. Also, the ABC star felt relieved that she is free from commitments.
“It feels good…I don’t have to answer to nobody,” Olympios told ET about being single. “I’m having a great time finally, and it was just such a relief. I feel like I haven’t had that in a really long time, the freedom to have fun with friends and also to feel OK about being out with DeMario.”
When prompted if there are chances that she and Jackson would continue the fling they started on “Bachelor in Paradise,” Olympios was unsure. “I mean, he’s a good-looking guy, but I don’t know if that will ever turn into anything. We’re just friends. We’re just moving on past the drama,” she said.
