Adeline Colosimo’s new book “Words of Promise” is the tale of a soldier’s search for retribution for the ones he has lost while serving his country during World War I.

Adeline Colosimo, originally from New York as one of six children born to immigrant parents, has completed her new book “Words of Promise”: a gripping and potent story of heartache and revenge caused by a love torn apart by war.

Colosimo has always had an interest in writing and has completed a number of essays, poems, and short stories. “Words of Promise” is her first published book, which tells the tale of a young Italian soldier during World War I. Adeline recently began writing a second story and anticipates completion in 2017.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Adeline Colosimo’s deeply moving tale follows main character Giuseppe though his endeavor to protect his family and the woman he has given his heart to, Gina. To ensure the safety of those he holds dear, Giuseppe must contend with the tyrannical powers that have wrested control over his country.

Giuseppe is a young Italian soldier who returns to his village in Southern Italy during World War I only to find family and friends suffering under the dictatorship of Fascism. Giuseppe’s promise to marry Gina, his childhood sweetheart, is impeded when he comes home to find her gone. Consumed with rage, he plans his revenge against the corrupt regime. He is willing to sacrifice his life to ensure the safety of his friends and family. An encounter with a stranger helps him resolve his conflict of promises made as we follow the young soldier on his vengeful journey.
