5 artists we want to see at FYF Fest 2017 if Frank Ocean cancels again





Maybe Frank Ocean just likes to play hard-to-get because he’s been hard to get on the stage this year.

The reclusive R&B singer and rapper, who rarely performs as it is, had a busy summer ahead with plans to perform at several high profile festivals, including the still-happening Saturday night headlining spot at the upcoming FYF Fest July 21-23 in Los Angeles.

However, Ocean has already canceled shows during his summer festival tour, including the 2017 Primavera Sound Festival which happened in June in Barcelona, Spain.

And before that, citing production issues, he dropped out of 2017 Sasquatch! and the 2017 Hangout festivals.

And before that, in 2015, he pulled out of FYF Fest at the last minute and Kanye West bailed out the festival with a set that included surprise guest Rihanna. Ocean, who did make it to a June 9 performance in Denmark, his first live show in three years, is still on for this year’s FYF Fest. While there aren’t any indications he’s going to leave L.A. hanging again, you can’t blame fans if they’re a little nervous about the July 22 headliner.

So with that in mind, and we’re not saying it’s going to happen, but just in case Ocean cancels, here are some acts that could pull a Kanye and save the day by replacing Ocean on the bill.

1. Lady Gaga with surprise guest Kanye West

Like Kanye before her, Lady Gaga rescued the show when she replaced Beyoncé at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival this year after Queen Bey had to postpone her festival moment until 2018 thanks to the twins.

Since Gaga has the experience and her tour doesn’t start until August, maybe she can bring out Kanye to combine their massive rescue powers and save FYF Fest.
