Senior Housing News, an Aging Media Network publication, is pleased to announce the official start of the 2017 Senior Housing Architecture & Design Awards. The awards recognize excellence by celebrating construction and renovation projects that improve the lives of seniors through innovative design.
Participants have until November 13, 2017, to submit their entries that will be judged by a panel of senior living industry experts. Entries will evaluated on several criteria including Design & Aesthetics, Community Integration and Amenities & Lifestyle.
Senior housing owners, operators, developers, architects and design firms from around the world will submit their entries to compete in 10 categories. This year’s competition expands the student category that includes case studies to follow for both architecture and design.
“The SHN Awards brings out the best new senior housing projects from around the US and the world,” said George Yedinak, co-founder and executive vice president of Aging Media. “We are thrilled to expand our student program to help draw in the next generation of architects and designers that will help shape senior living in the next 30 years.”
Every year, more than 80 organizations enter their communities in the SHN Architecture & Design Awards for their unique approaches to senior living design.
The 2017 competition is exclusively sponsored by Kwalu, a provider of senior living furniture solutions to communities across the United States.
