Trudeau says government's popularity has dampened public's desire for electoral reform

One year after his party’s resounding election victory, Justin Trudeau finds himself in a terrible bind: his government is so beloved that it might not, in good conscience, be able to fulfil one of its campaign commitments. Yes, the Liberal government did promise the federal election in 2015 would be the last such campaign conducted under the first-past-the-post system.  But his government has also since said it won’t proceed with electoral reform unless there is broad public support for doing so. Michael Moore debuts film on Trump weeks before vote

NEW YORK (AP) — Michael Moore has premiered a surprise film discussing the presidential election just three weeks before Americans head to the polls. Moore debuted “Michael Moore in TrumpLand” in New York on Tuesday night in front of an audience of his fans. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film features Moore speaking about both Republican nominee Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton on stage earlier this month in Wilmington, Ohio, a hotbed of Trump support. Link found between selfie viewing and decreased self-esteem

Frequent viewing of selfies through social network sites like Facebook is linked to a decrease in self-esteem and life satisfaction, according to Penn State researchers in mass communications. “Most of the research done on social network sites looks at the motivation for posting and liking content, but we’re now starting to look at the effect of viewing behavior,” said Ruoxu Wang, graduate student in mass communications.
