Banks turn down student customers because parents' postcode

Tuesday, September 6th, 2016:

Tens  of thousands of students heading to university for the first time are at risk of being rejected for current accounts and overdrafts because they are from the wrong part of the country. An estimated 20,000 teenagers are set to be turned down for accounts that offer interest-free overdrafts for students. And as many as 40,000 could find they will not be able to get the overdraft level being offered by banks. Caterer Do & Co joins Vienna's blue chip index as AT&S drops out

VIENNA, Sept 6 Catering firm Do & Co replaced AT&S in Austria’s blue chip index, Vienna’s stock exchange said on Tuesday, only six months after the microchip maker joined. Do & Co’s customers include Lufthansa unit Austrian Airlines , Turkish Airlines, Air France and British Airways.
