$1.2M for Grenfell Campus childcare centre clawed back

Plans to build a childcare centre at Grenfell Campus in Corner Brook have been axed by the provincial government, as its faculty association says the Liberals have clawed back the $1.2 million previously allocated to build it. “We were quite shocked, to be honest. High Speed 3 'will not fire up the Northern Powerhouse'

Government investment in the North’s cities might be better put towards improving skills, and developing transport networks within cities themselves, rather than between them. The think tank report concluded that the primary focus of the Northern Powerhouse project should be “on making its cities more attractive to business investment”. Sonny Bill Williams signs 3-year deal with New Zea

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) — All Blacks star Sonny Bill Williams has signed a three-year deal with New Zealand Rugby and will play for the Auckland-based Blues in the Super Rugby competition from next season. Williams, who is currently playing for the New Zealand sevens team which will compete at the Olympics in August, announced his decision on Wednesday at a news conference where he was flanked by NZ Rugby chief executive Steve Tew and All Blacks coach Steve Hansen.
